Rockbird Media, an international event firm, has launched the HR Leaders Asia Advisory Board to provide deeper industry insights and expertise to its flagship executive meetings and related industry events. These are run in select countries all over the Asia-Pacific region, namely Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

The HR Leaders advisory board was formed to guarantee the quality of executive meetings and keep the executive meeting agenda up-to-date with a strategic edge for its attendees.

Chee Gay Lim, Chief Human Resource Officer, Teledirect Telecommerce

Chee is a seasoned C-level HR leader, with more than 24 years of experience in HR, manufacturing, IT, and supply chain. With his varied career he was able to transform HR with an [outside-in] approach through his career in Asia, Europe, and the USA, working with AIA, Samsung, T-Mobile, Astro, and Intel. He was able to drive Samsung’s HR team into winning the Best HR team award, standing out amongst Samsung’s 82 subsidiaries.

Joann Hizon, Vice President for HR, Admin, and Facilities, SM Investments Corporation

Joann has over 25 years of HR leadership in training, operations, and facilities, from her work spanning industries of BPO, IT, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, property, and mining. She is a sought-after resource speaker here and abroad on topics such as career counseling, succession planning, workplace diversity, and organizational transformation, with articles and interviews published in a number of magazines and newspapers. Under her leadership, SM Investments is a year-on-year winner of Top Employer awards from Jobstreet and Forbes.

Monir Azzouzi, Vice President, People Relations & People Experience, Gojek

Monir has extensive experience in HR culture transformation and organizational development with deep knowledge in developing frameworks to drive digital transformation and modernize HR. In Gojek he’s heading the people partner function for all tech people in HQ, Indonesia, and looking at how to transition the HR function according to Gojek’s massive growth in the region. His experience in fast-paced digital companies makes him play a critical role in transforming HR departments from conventional units to ones that adds real value to the business by focusing on mindset change, employee experience, leadership and preparing people and the organization for the digital age.

Nadiah Tan Abdullah, Chief Human Resource Officer, SP Setia Berhad

Nadiah has more than 20 years of HR expertise which spans various industries in her work with local and multinational Fortune 500 companies. Her expertise lies in driving change initiatives focused on developing the optimum organizational structure and attracting the best talent using creative and strategic channels. She has been actively involved in creating positive and sustainable development platforms for enhanced talent capabilities and employee engagement.

Fong Tuan Chen, HR and General Affairs Director, Samsung Electronics

Fong Tuan is responsible for the end-to-end people operations and administrative functions of Samsung Malaysia Electronics, and a member of the country executive team providing strategic and tactical input to drive organizational goals and business objectives. Before this, he was the chief people officer of the Mah Sing Group and the HR director for B. Braun Asia Pacific. He has held senior HR leadership roles with the Maybank Group, British American Tobacco, OCBC and Coca-Cola. He also had a stint with Watson Wyatt (now known as Willis Towers Watson) as Malaysia’s talent practice lead, consulting in the areas of talent management, total rewards, and human capital strategy.

Inside these executive meetings, the C-level attendees participate in exclusive, one-hour roundtable sessions with fellow leaders to discuss trends, share best practices, and exchange ideas. These sessions run simultaneously throughout the day, with keynote presentations in between.
